Sam's Network of Love and Light

All my stirring becomes quiet around me like circles on water - Wendell Berry

Samantha Walker loves a good story. In fact, she followed her heart, and her intuition, by pursuing a career as a visual storyteller. She left Montreal, where she had been running a successful advertising agency, to explore her passion for photography. Sam has since traveled the world as a photo documentarian, recording the stories of the people she meets and the places she visits. Her journey has led her to Nepal, India, Liberia, Zimbabwe, Malawi and Mozambique to name a few. It has also led her to Vancouver where she has created a world that is full of possibility. Sam has an uncanny ability to look beneath the surface and reveal those simple moments of truth that connect us all. She sees herself as an intuitive observer, subtly weaving together the stories she encounters. She lives a life of respect and gratitude, and always finds time to pause and reflect on the beauty of the human spirit.

Favourite Poem

I go among trees and sit still.
All my stirring becomes quiet
around me like circles on water.
My tasks lie in their places
where I left them, asleep like cattle.

Then what is afraid of me comes
and lives a while in my sight.
What it fears in me leaves me,
and the fear of me leaves it.
It sings, and I hear its song.

Then what I am afraid of comes.
I live for a while in its sight.
What I fear in it leaves it,
and the fear of it leaves me.
It sings, and I hear its song.

After days of labor,
mute in my consternations,
I hear my song at last,
and I sing it. As we sing,
the day turns, the trees move.
